President/Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Britt became Chief Executive Officer in November 2009. Prior to that, he managed Global Solar’s R&D and Engineering as Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Britt has been with Global Solar since 1998 and has led the technology team, whose advances have positioned Global Solar Energy as the pre-eminent flexible thin-film solar company in the world. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida, an M.S. in Engineering Science, also from USF, and a B.S. in Physics from the University of Florida.
He has spent 27 years researching thin-film photovoltaic technology, mostly focused on Copper Indium Gallium diSelenide (CIGS). He joined Global Solar in 1998 and managed Global Solar's R&D and Engineering departments until 2011. Prior to that, he was Director of Photovoltaic Technology at EPV, Inc. in Princeton, NJ. He has authored or co-authored 51 publications and holds 15 U.S. patents. He has been an invited speaker at numerous international conferences. He won the R&D100 Award in 2004 as a Primary Developer and has served on the IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference Committee and the U.S. Photovoltaics Industry PV Technology Roadmap Workshop Committee.
