About This Position

The Equipment Support Technician will be responsible for inspecting and performing equipment maintenance as required. Individual may support Equipment/Facilities Maintenance throughout the company by performing basic preventative maintenance. This also will include assisting in the repair, fabrication, assembly, and installation of equipment. Assisting with parts ordering and repairs. Maintaining and organizing spare parts. The candidate must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. 

Position-Related Responsibilities:
  • Carefully read equipment manuals and interpret them to properly understand operation and maintenance
  • Work with hazardous materials and compressed gases
  • Inspect new equipment upon arrival to confirm proper working order and adherence to industry standards
  • Maintain required stock levels of spare parts, modules, and supplies. Assist with parts ordering and shipping for repairs
  • Abide by all safety regulations during manufacturing activities, keeping equipment in check to avoid mechanical hazards
  • Assist in the purchase of new equipment, utilizing operational knowledge; test machines to determine durability; return low-performing machines for repair or exchange when necessary
  • Carry out routine servicing and repair of equipment to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions
  • Keep record of maintenance activities to track the lifespan of equipment
  • Disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, reassemble, and test various types of electrical, hand operated, or pneumatic equipment
  • Communicate with management or clients, reporting any equipment faults and/or best practices to implement for optimal performance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two year technical degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Automation, or Robotics preferred
  • Must be able to read/write/speak English fluently
  • Work experience of one to three years in manufacturing industry preferred, including electronic/electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, automation/controls, computer, motion, etc. Semiconductor manufacturing experience (such as high vacuum sputter, plasma tech, photolithography, metrology, high purity gas delivery, etc.) desired
  • Forklift experience and experience working on air hoists, come alongs, manual hoists, and electric hoists desired
  • Must have:
    • Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
    • Mechanical aptitude
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Good computer skills, proficiency in MS Suite
    • Organizational skills
    • Experience with basic shop tools
    • Good hand-eye coordination
    • Prior warehouse/manufacturing or related work experience
