Darren Verebelyi, Ph.D.

Vice President of Engineering

Dr. Darren Verebelyi is the Vice President of Engineering and has more than 20 years of experience in the thin film coatings and renewable energy products industry. Dr. Verebelyi joined Global Solar Energy in 2007 as a Senior Technical Manager and in 2009 was named the Director of Engineering responsible for process and product engineering along with the development through implementation of back-end of the line equipment.

Prior to joining Global Solar Energy, Dr. Verebelyi worked for AMSC where he commercialized high-temperature superconducting wire using a thin-film coating on metal foil technology. Dr. Verebelyi holds a Ph. D in Physics from Clemson University and completed a postdoctoral appointment at Oak Ridge National Laboratory researching thin film growth and the transport properties of superconductors in high magnetic fields. Dr. Verebelyi is named on 6 issued U.S. patents and over 50 peer-reviewed technical articles.
