Global Solar offers a number of excellent benefits to its employees.
Medical Insurance
Medical benefits are available to new employees on the first day of employment. The medical plan includes vision and prescription coverage and is currently provided by Health Net of Arizona. Global Solar pays 90% of associate premiums including the premiums for eligible dependents.
Vision Insurance
Additional vision insurance is available to new employees on the first day of employment. This additional coverage allows for eyeglasses or contacts and discounts for laser surgery.
Dental Insurance
Dental benefits are also available to new employees on the first day of employment. Dental coverage is provided by MetLife and includes orthodontia benefits.
Disability Insurance
Global Solar provides eligible associates with disability insurance which covers non-work related injury or illness. Short-term disability covers up to 66 2/3% of pre-disability earnings and long-term disability provides up to 60% of pre-disability income for qualifying disabilities. There is no cost to the associate for these benefits.
Life Insurance
Global Solar provides associates with basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance at no cost. These benefits are valued at 1.5 times annual base earnings to a maximum of $300,000. Additional voluntary Term Life Insurance for associates and/or dependents may be purchased at competitive group rates
through payroll deductions.
401(k)
Employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan on their first day of employment, and may defer up to the lesser of $15,000 or 15% of gross salary. Global Solar will match 100% of an employee's contribution up to 4.5 percent. In addition, the match will occur every two weeks with immediate vesting. The plan's current record keeper is Fidelity Investments.
Vacation
New employees at Global Solar are eligible to receive ten paid vacation days per year. At the start of 5 years of employment our employees are eligible for 15 days and at the start of 10 years of employment our employees are eligible for 20 days of paid vacation.

- Global Solar is closed the week between Christmas and New Year's Day
