Global Solar Rolls Out New Rooftop Solar Panel

Tucson-based Global Solar Energy Inc. on Tuesday unveiled a flexible photovoltaic module designed to be applied directly to rooftops of commercial buildings.

Global Solar’s new building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) module, dubbed the PowerFLEX BIPV, is based on the company’s high-efficiency copper indium gallium diselenide thin-film solar material.

Designed for commercial and industrial rooftops, the PowerFLEX BIPV modules are about 12 feet long and a 1 1/2 feet wide, and require no rigid frames for mounting.
