Senior Product Development Engineer

This position has the responsibility for developing new and upgraded products and processes based on product and marketing requirements. Key efforts include project leadership, product definition, evaluation of new materials and structures, and coordination or execution of product testing, including product reliability and certification.

Must Haves

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field (Electrical, Materials, Mechanical, Reliability preferred). Doctorate degree desirable.
• At least five years experience in Product Development

Desired Skills and Experience

• Product design and testing history involving polymer properties, selection and validation
• Instrumentation for and measurement of electronic materials and devices
• Product design and certification of products (e.g. UL, IEC, MIL STD)
• Reliability and failure analysis
• Statistical software for modeling and trend interpretation
• Semiconductor physics, metallurgy, and semiconductor fabrication processes


Quality Engineer

Responsible for development, documentation and analysis to assure compliance with all aspects of Global Solar Energy’s (GSE’s) Quality Management System.  Provides support for engineering product development, agency certifications and compliance, suppliers, customers, metrics, and analytical functions to support product production. Supervises Quality Technicians and Inspectors.

Must Haves
• Engineering/Quality B.S. degree or higher.
• 5 years industry experience in a manufacturing and quality engineering function.
• Skill in statistical methods and programs (e.g. JMP, Statistica, etc.) 
• Experience with business (e.g.  ISO9001, etc) and product (e.g. UL, IEC, MIL STD, etc.) certifications, audits and compliance maintenance.

Desired Skills and Experience
• Experience with statistical process control, metrology, FMEA, process capability characterization, design of experiments, 8D or similar programs is highly valued.
• Working understanding of manufacturing information systems (ERPs)
• Experience with photovoltaic products and development is highly valued


Defect Reduction Engineer

This process engineering position is responsible for characterization of thin films and polymer structures for defects. The position supports our high quality manufacturing and R&D Company’s operations. Our CIGS-based thin film is used to produce high efficiency flexible modules for our commercial products and to supply OEMs.  This position evaluates and investigates the failure modes related to defects in the thin film and finished products.

Must Haves

• BS in Materials Science, Physics or Chemistry or an equivalent degree in a technical field
• Analytical equipment experience with microscopes, SEM, surface roughness, etc
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn/use company ERP system  

Desired Skills and Experience

• Effective failure analysis and problem solving
• Web handling methods and production vision system experience is an advantage
• Converting, photovoltaic, or semiconductor industry experience helpful
• Ability to work efficiently with a team of engineers, manufacturing personnel and scientists


Product Development Engineer

This position will be responsible for new and improved product implementation, accomplished through engineering project leadership, evaluation of new materials and structures, and execution of continuous improvement and reliability.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field (Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical)
• 3-5 years experience in process/products implementation. 
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient computer skills including but not limited to MS Office and Outlook
• Understanding of electrical circuits and basic diagnostic tools for electrical circuits
• Familiarity with a wide range of polymers and their properties
• Experience in statistical software for modeling and trend interpretation
